Gleneagles Medini is a Medisave-accredited hospital approved by the Ministry of Health, Singapore.

Medisave is a Singapore national medical savings scheme for members of Central Provident Fund (CPF) who contributes part of their income into their Medisave Account to meet any future personal or immediate family’s medical expenses.

Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) with a valid Medisave account who wishes to use their Medisave at Gleneagles Medini are advised to obtain a referral from our Medisave Accredited Referral Centre at:

Medisave Frequently Asked Questions

Qn:1 What are the overseas treatments that I can use my Medisave for?Your Medisave can be used for any medically-required hospitalisation for treatment and surgeries. However, the overseas hospital must have a MOH (Ministry of Health) approved referral arrangement with a Medisave-accredited referral centre in Singapore.

Qn:2 Can I use my Medisave for outpatient treatment?No. Medisave cannot be used for outpatient treatment.

Qn:3 Can I go directly to the overseas hospital to arrange for my admission and treatment?No. If you intend to use your Medisave, your admission in the overseas hospital must be arranged through a Medisave-accredited referral centre in Singapore where a pre-admission assessment and financial counseling will be conducted.

Qn:4 Can my Medisave be used for my family members?Yes. Your Medisave can be used for your immediate family members as long as they reside in Singapore.

Qn:5 Can I use my Medisave if my admission was an emergency?In such a situation, you will have to wait till your discharge before you can process your Medisave claims. Your attending doctor during your admission will have to write a discharge report stating that your admission was an emergency. You will then need to write to the CPF (Central Provident Fund) Board for approval of your Medisave deduction.

Qn:6 Is there a difference in my Medisave claim limit for my treatment and hospitalisation overseas?The amount that you can claim is the same as that in Singapore.

Qn:7 Can I use my Medisave for delivery?Yes. Parents with Medisave accounts can use their Medisave for delivery overseas. However, the expectant couple must be referred to the overseas hospital by a Medisave-accredited referral Centre in Singapore prior to delivery.

Qn:8 Can I use my Medisave for day surgeries?Yes. You can use your Medisave for day surgeries provided your surgery is medically-required and your stay in the hospital must be at least 8 hours.

Qn:9 Can I use my Medisave for Health Screening?No. Health Screening services are not Medisave claimable.

Qn:10 Can Medisave be used in all Malaysian hospitals?No.The overseas hospital must have a MOH (Ministry of Health) approved referral arrangement with a Medisave-accredited referral centre in Singapore.

Qn:11 Can Medisave be used for diagnostic tests such as CT scans, MRI and Lab tests? You can use your Medisave for diagnostic tests only if these tests are part of your medically-required inpatient and surgical treatment.
